Exciting is one word that has almost never been used to describe the design of GPS units. The touchscreens on these devices haven't made the advances that other devices have integrated either. But there's a new sheriff in town when it comes to GPS design in the 3790T by Garmin Nuvi. It's not just the packaging that has changed in this unit. Garmin has also greatly improved the intuitive nature of the touchscreen as well. The reason for this huge difference can be found in the new wave of technology that Garmin is using for their latest offering. Changes like these aren't all that shocking, however, considering just how competitive the GPS market has become.
One feature that does capture attention is the new touchscreen, capacitive glass variety, and you can use pinching action for zooming in either direction. If you have an Android or iPhone, then you may notice the Nuvi 3790T multi-touch function is not quite as advanced as your phone. By that we mean the effect does not seem to be as completely smooth and seamless; however, it does not detract from the manner of operation or effect. One slight drawback is the absence of light sensors for adjustments to ambient lighting conditions. On the other hand that is aptly compensated for by the very high quality of the screen display.
Another standard that the Nuvi 3790T offers along with the City Navigator? NT is the SUNA Traffic Channel that has a valid life subscription. The low-profile design came with the consequence of not having enough room to put in an FM receiver. So that you can get the SUNA traffic updates, you do need to have a receiver. Since the FM receiver is in the charge unit, you will need to have it. Since the charger is a mobile device it does allow you to get traffic updates when you are on the road.
For making hands-free phone calls it does have the Bluetooth capability. Think about experimenting with the device first because it seems that the microphone is the last thing that gets installed and rarely is it the best quality of mic on the market.
The Nuvi 3790T GPS still offers the Real View Advanced Lane Guidance system. This function, for those who are haven't used Garmin, is the ability to display the real life image of the surrounding areas and road. You will also see that the signs are like what you see in real life. This feature has many helpful applications especially for major roads and interstates.
Can using a GPS get any more convenient? The lane assistance navigation is something you can use on the open freeway or interstate. Traveling in the middle of congested rush hour in the city can get a little hairy. With the Nuvi 3790T, it informs you which lane you need to be driving in if there is a turn pending. This is great for those who are navigation challenged as well as others because it appears to take all the confusion out of driving. There should be a real life image on the display that will show you where you are located.
So that you can quickly grasp the situation, the lane you should be driving in is clearly marked with arrow. The necessary gear and connections come with the Garmin Nuvi 3790T GPS so you are able to plug it into your computer. Because the very low profile electronic devices use micro-USB devices and connectors you will be seeing more of them over time. This information was brought to you by http://vibrantviews.hubpages.com/hub/3-Things-To-Look-For-When-Choosing-Reading-Glasses-and-Sunglasses, your source for all things related on Reading Sunglasses - Bifocal Sunglasses.
